    I’m Steve, your local electrician in Penrith. I’ve run Shotskies across Penrith and Western Sydney for ten years, and I do the work myself, so the person who quotes your job is the one who turns up to do it.

    Most people don’t know much about electrical work, and there is no reason they should. I will explain what is going on in plain English, tell you what I would do in your shoes, and only recommend what you actually need. If a smaller fix will do, I will say so.

    It depends on your home and the existing wiring, so I give a written quote rather than a phone estimate. Send a photo of your board and I can give you a rough idea.

    For part of the day, yes, while I swap the board over. I will plan it with you so it is as little disruption as possible.

    Most are done within a day. If yours is likely to take longer, I will tell you before I start.

    Not always. If it still has ceramic fuses or no safety switches, an upgrade is worth considering, but I will give you an honest assessment rather than push you into it.

    Yes. A safety inspection covers your switchboard, safety switches, points and wiring, and I will tell you plainly what, if anything, needs attention.
