Terms & Conditions
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions govern the electrical and air conditioning services provided by SHOTSKIES AIR & ELECTRICAL LTD PTY (ABN 26 618 127 914), trading as Shotskies Air & Electrical (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Shotskies”) to you (“the customer”, “you”). By asking us to quote or carry out work, you agree to these terms.
2. Our services
We provide residential electrical and air conditioning services across Penrith and Western Sydney, including:
- Electrical work such as switchboard upgrades, lighting, power points, wiring, ceiling fans, EV chargers, safety switches and smoke alarms
- Fault finding, repairs and urgent electrical work
- Air conditioning supply and installation (split, multi split and ducted)
- Air conditioning servicing and repairs
Electrical work is carried out by a licensed NSW electrician (Licence No. 352954C). Refrigerant handling for air conditioning is performed under the required ARCtick authorisation [confirm authorisation number].
3. Quotes and pricing
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date we issue them, unless we say otherwise. A quote is based on the information you give us and, where needed, a look at the site. If something unforeseen comes up once work begins, for example hidden wiring problems, asbestos, or extra materials, we will tell you and agree any extra cost with you before we continue. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise.
4. Booking and acceptance
A quote is accepted when you confirm, either in writing or verbally, that you would like us to proceed. We will then schedule your job, subject to availability. For all jobs valued over $1,000, a 10% deposit is required before work is scheduled. Any applicable deposit amount will be specified in your quote. For some jobs, equipment or materials may also need to be ordered before work can commence.
5. Payment
For residential work, payment is due on completion unless we agree otherwise in writing. Any deposit is payable before work starts. Accounts left unpaid past their due date may accrue interest, and we may pause further work until the account is brought up to date.
6. Cancellations and rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule a booked job, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations at shorter notice may attract a fee, and deposits may not be refundable once materials have been ordered or work has started.
7. Site access and preparation
You agree to give us safe and clear access to the work area, including the switchboard, roof space or ceiling cavity where the job requires it. Please move furniture and belongings away from the work area and keep pets secured while we are on site. We are not responsible for delays caused by access or preparation issues outside our control.
8. Workmanship and warranties
Our installation workmanship is covered by a 5-year workmanship warranty, provided no other person has carried out work on, modified, or repaired the installation. Equipment such as air conditioners, switchboards, and other supplied products is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions. Where a warranty claim relates to a manufacturer’s defect, we will coordinate with the manufacturer to arrange inspection and any approved repairs or replacement. Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, lack of required servicing, unauthorised modifications or repairs, power surges, or extreme weather. Where a manufacturer requires regular servicing to maintain warranty coverage, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure those servicing requirements are met.
9. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our services, and any goods we supply, come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure you are entitled to a remedy such as a refund or replacement, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss. For a failure that is not major, you are entitled to have the problem fixed within a reasonable time, and if that is not done, to a refund. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, and subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, our liability for any service is limited to resupplying that service or paying the cost of having it resupplied. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or business interruption.
11. Privacy
We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.
12. Dispute resolution
If a problem arises, please raise it with us first so we can try to sort it out. If we cannot resolve it between us, both parties agree to attempt mediation before starting legal proceedings. This does not stop either party seeking urgent relief from a court where needed.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and both parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be on our website, and engaging us for work means you accept the terms in force at that time.
