"Steve installed an aircon for my parents. I would highly recommend him for all installations. His prices are reasonable, his workmanship is excellent and arrived at the time he said he would. They were very happy with his work 5 out of 5 from them"

Our old unit died just in time for the hot weather to roll in. Steve managed to fit us in, and did a fantastic job of installing a new Mitsubishi unit.

    About Shotskies.

I’m Steve, your local electrician in Penrith. I’ve run Shotskies across Penrith and Western Sydney for ten years, and I do the work myself, so the person who quotes your job is the one who turns up to do it.

Most people don’t know much about electrical work, and there is no reason they should. I will explain what is going on in plain English, tell you what I would do in your shoes, and only recommend what you actually need. If a smaller fix will do, I will say so.

Everything you need to know about working with our local electrical and air conditioning team.

If you want even comfort through the whole home and a tidy, hidden system, yes. For one or two rooms, splits are usually the better value. I will give you a straight comparison.

Yes. Zoning lets you cool only the rooms in use, so you are not paying to condition the whole house at once.

Yes, reverse-cycle ducted heats in winter and cools in summer from the one system.

Sometimes. It saves outdoor space and can look neater, but separate splits can be simpler and cheaper. I will give you an honest comparison for your home.

It depends on the unit, but typically a few. I will size it around the rooms you actually want cooled.

Usually, yes, and it needs less ceiling space. Whether it is the right choice depends on how many rooms you want done.

Once a year is a good rule, ideally before summer. It keeps the system efficient and catches small issues before they become breakdowns.

Usually, yes. I will find the fault and give you an honest fix rather than jump straight to replacing the whole system.

Yes, both split and ducted systems.

It depends on the room size, ceiling height, windows and which way it faces. I work that out for you rather than guess, so it is neither underdone nor oversized.
